What To Take

Knowing what to bring each time you go fishing can be a struggle if you’re new to the sport. But I’ve helped take some of the guess work out of it for you and here’s a list of some gear that I  recommended when heading out for a day on the water that’s practical for all types of fishing.

fishing tackle

  • Fishing Licence (Printed off)
  • Fishing Rod(s) (Check to see if you are allowed more than one. Regulations vary depending on location)
  • Tackle Box (Filled with your goodies such as boobers, hooks, bait, lures, jigs, flashers, etc…)
  • Map of area
  • Net
  • GPS or depth sounder  (To help find those monster fish)
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Cooler / Bucket (Can double as a seat or bait storage)
  • 4″ or longer fixed bladed knife
  • Insect Repellent
  • Clean Towel
  • Small first aid kit (You can find small ones made for outdoor purposes)
  • Water
  • Fish Measuring Tape

I know the list can seem a little long, so it’s important to take into consideration where you’ll be going fishing when packing your gear. If you have any other cool gear or important gear recommendations I’d love to know! Leave your favourite gear recommendations in the comments below.

Happy Fishing!
